I ran into a lady who's baby's name is Forbes. Have people gone too far with unique names?

Poor boy. Named after a magazine.

Poor baby, at least it wasn't Sweetangel, Lemonjello, or Nosmo King, I have also seen murderous spellings and more surname first names lately. Maybe the trend will change soon
Reply:To each his/her own. : ) I dislike it more when it is something I can't pronounce personally.
Reply:I definitely think that was going too far!
Reply:yea, like the baby named apple.
Reply:I think it goes a little too far. ppl want so badly to give their child a unique name, that they don't stop to think about the fact that their kid has to live w/ this label all th way through 12 yrs of, possibly torturous, school!
Reply:I'm all for unique names, but it's getting so that some of them are completely unpronounceable. I think Forbes is kind of cute.
Reply:At least the kid wasn't named @, 4real, Superman, or Female (pronounced Fem all ee, like tamale).
Reply:i think its retarded i know a girl whose actual name is TLC it stands for tender loving care and her sister is SNE see no evil!!
Reply:Maybe it's a family name. I just hate when names become too trendy if I hear one more Madison, Addison, McKenzy I'll scream. And the crazy spellings, it's Jennifer, not Genyphr.
Reply:i dont know i once knew a girl who wanted to name her child tangerine.... im named after the best wine ever.... Champagne ... i guess its how you carry it. i hated it at first but as i gotten older its more unique and alot of men find it sexy lol esp with the middle name Mercedez and all .... i guess thats what you get with a high maintance mom
