What is a unique name that identifies you as the user on a computer?

Give me your bank account number and sort code and I'll tell you.

Joke.

What is a unique name that identifies you as the user on a computer?
Each user has a GUID associated with it which is the key under which all their registry items are saved (the one used to construct the 'current user' account when you login). This is a unique ID for each user on the machine.

Names of accounts can be updated, but the GUID stays the same.

Reply:Two different things,

One is simply the username you use on say forums. Like my own Jumpin Jack Flash.

Two The unique little ditty which allows you to be identified etc by the likes of the security services.
