Whould u rather have ur baby have a really common name or a really unique name?

I would say unique

Whould u rather have ur baby have a really common name or a really unique name?
It really depends. If it was legit and unique it would be fine but if it was made-up and spelled wrong and would choose a more common one.
Reply:Depends what you mean by "really unique." I'd rather use a common name any day over some of the made up ones I see on here. Overall though, I want my kids to have uncommon names. I was the only Alexandra in my high school of over 3,000 people and I loved it. There were 9 Ashley's in one of my classes once and I couldn't even imagine having such a common name. Sure you can't find gifts with your name on it, but I kind of liked that. Now when I see things coming out with my name on it it kind of makes me sad, haha.

I wanted to use Isabella as my first daughter's name (when I have one, I'm still in college) but I refuse to now since it's SO overly used. Oh well.
Reply:Something in between. I like names that are known but still uncommon.

For ex. I like Jonah..pronounceable, easy to spell, yet not overly used.
Reply:I'd like to keep it common. I have a unique name, and it doesn't make me stand out or anything.
Reply:I say common. Everyone will know how to spell and pronounce it, and they'll always be able to find cool gifts with their name on it.
Reply:Unique, although what's unque today will probably be common soon enough.
Reply:unique. but it has to be pronoucable.
Reply:I would go for one that is somewhat unique but not uncommon either. That way your child would stand out yet he would be one of the crowd at the same time.
Reply:Unique... I want it to be different than everyone else's and like 1 in a million. tee hee
Reply:Really unique name
Reply:definately unique!!my name is amanda and every year i have at least two other girls named amanda in at least one of my classes. i hate it, it makes me feel like im just another "amanda" out there. i wish i had a more unique name like Delila or Isabella or something unique but not weird and crazy
Reply:I kinda like unique, but I don't want something ridiculous. I wouldn't want to name my child something that I would be too embarrassed to tell my parents what I named them. In fact I would go with common just cause it seems like everyone is going with unique names nowadays. And a lot of them are stupid.
Reply:Unique but reasonable!
Reply:Well, I would prefer a common name such as Elizabeth or Jonathan because now-a-days everyone seems to be looking for a unique name. So the good, strong, traditional names have a better chance of not having too many duplicates. I am also really in favor of names passed down through families. :)
Reply:unique as long as its not really out there. it's nice to be an individual
Reply:it really depends on the name
Reply:I would prefer a Unique Name with a common middle name

For example Tasha Nicole
Reply:More unique than common.

We named our son Kade (not Kaden) 6 years ago and now we're naming our daughter Grady Commerson. To each their own!
Reply:Please chose a name that the child can live with and be proud of. Remember it is their name not yours
Reply:Absolutely 100% unique!

I have a unique name so I speak from experience.

Mom to 2 normal named kids....as for why I'm not really sure.
Reply:How about in the middle? I had 4 other Melissa's in my class, and 2 different spellings. Talk about a nightmare. Even though we had almost 500 in our class somehow we ended up in many of the same core classes. BLAH. But I also wouldn't want a too unique name where my son would get made fun of, like Apple or some other crazy celeb baby name. When we picked our sons name (Tyler) we only knew 2-3 other people with his name. Then two days after my son was born I met some one else who was naming there son that, and now everyone has a Tyler. It's crazy. Not to mention with odd names spelling can be an issue. People ask me all the time how to spell Tyler and it's common! I just look at them and say "T-Y-L-E-R?" I would say in the middle somewhere.
Reply:Definitely really unique, as long as it's not completely over the top. I would hate to be one of four Sarahs in the classroom. :)
Reply:i would say common but unique ...such as my self i have 2 little girls their names r : mya alexandra n the other one is amy rashel as u can c used the same 3 letters on the first names n the middle ones i change the c for the s on rashel n the x for the j on alexandra inted of alejandra
Reply:Unique
Reply:I think that i would rather my baby have a unique name... But not so unique that nobody knows about it, and mispronounces it.
Reply:unique =]
Reply:Unique but not some weird sci-fi thing like Plotopolis or something. names like,

Shaylie Raye Keely

or you could come up with a really cool spelling for a classic name like

Kate:Kayt Alice: Alysse Rose: Roze

hope this helps
Reply:well considering my name is Keeley, i would want a unique name. common names are so boring. i love the names ava, jayden and mikaela. because i've never heard of anyone with them. your child will be unique just like their name.
Reply:Unique. I want my name to be mine, not every other girl's.
Reply:Unique.
